Installation
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”This guide covers Unreal Engine 5.8 on Windows (Win64). The plugin runs in the Editor and works with standard Blueprint K2 graphs. The current candidate has been built and tested on UE 5.8.3.
Install through Fab
Section titled “Install through Fab”Once the product is available:
- Add the plugin to your Fab library.
- Install it to your matching Unreal Engine version using the Epic Games Launcher.
- Open your project and go to Edit → Plugins.
- Search for Blueprint Connection Assistant, enable it, and restart the editor when prompted.
- Open a Blueprint and look for Assistant in the Blueprint toolbar.
Install from source
Section titled “Install from source”Use this route when you have the plugin’s source distribution and the C++ toolchain required by your Unreal installation.
- Close Unreal Editor.
- Place the plugin folder inside your project’s Plugins folder:
YourProject/Plugins/BlueprintConnectionAssistant/BlueprintConnectionAssistant.uplugin. - Build the project’s Editor target.
- Open the project, enable the plugin in Edit → Plugins, and restart if needed.
Install one copy: avoid having both an engine copy and a project copy enabled. Use a full build and restart for initial installation; Live Coding does not replace this step.
Check the installation
Section titled “Check the installation”Open a Blueprint Event Graph. Hover over a pin and press Alt+C, or right-click the pin and choose Highlight Compatible Pins. No account, network service, MCP server, or additional marketplace plugin is required.
